Six arrested digging for treasure in Kandy

Police have apprehended six persons for digging for hidden treasure in the Rangala area in Kandy.

The Rangala police stated that the suspects were arrested while they had been excavating in an area in Diganakelewatta which is of archaeological importance.


The suspects are scheduled to be presented to the Teldeniya Magistrate’s Court later today (January 01) while the Rangala police conduct a further investigation.
