Rejection was tough choice, says Aravinda

The decision to reject Sanath Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vaas from the 2011 Cricket World Cup team was the toughest decision the selectors had to take recently, said Selection Committee head Aravinda de Silva this evening.

Both players have proved themselves with the bat and ball but since only 15 players had to be selected the selectors had to leave Sanath and Vaas out, said Mr. de Silva addressing the media this evening.

However, the Selection Committee selected the best 15 and there was no favouration in the process, Aravinda de Silva added.
