UN Panel will not speak to President in US

UN has confirmed that the its Expert Panel will not speak with President Mahinda Rajapaksa while he is in the US on a private visit, Inner City Press reports. Responding to a query by email Martin Nesirky, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General had said that, “He is not set to meet any of the Panel members, nor anyone else from the Secretariat.”

 

The email further adds that President Rajapaksa has no business scheduled at the UN.
