Chennai Maha Bodhi Vihara attacked, three monks injured – Dept. HC

Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Chennai V. Krisnamoorthy today confirmed to Ada Derana that a mob had attacked the Sri Lankan Maha Bodhi Vihara in Chennai yesterday morning. He added that around 10-15 people had launched the attack while three monks were inside the Vihara.

 

 

Krisnamoorthy stated that two Sri Lankan monks and One Nepalese monk had sustained minor injuries. Security has been beefed up following to attack by the Tamil Nadu government at all prominent Sri Lankan establishments in South India including the High Commission in Chennai.
