JVP are ahead in the local government elections - Herath

The JVP is already ahead in the local government election campaign as the leading two parties have had many of their nomination lists rejected, Propaganda Secretary of the JVP, MP Vijitha Herath said at a press conference today.
The JVP will contest for 275 local government institutions while 4526 nominees have been put forward for election. He added that the JVP campaign will focus on educating the people on the corrupt form of governance practiced by the government.
