Two Ruhuna Uni students stabbed in clash

Two students from the University of Ruhuna have been hospitalized following a clash that had taken place yesterday. The students have been admitted to Matara Hospital with multiple stab wounds and are currently receiving treatment.
Professor Susirith Mendis, the Vice Chancellor of the university expressed that the students had been attacked outside the university premises at a bus stand in close proximity to the campus.
One of the students is said to be from the Faculty of Management and Finance while the other is from the Science Faculty.
It has been reported that an unidentified group had assaulted and stabbed one of the students while at the bus stand at around 6.00 pm yesterday and when the other student had intervened to stop the fight he too had been stabbed and wounded.
Prof. Susirith Mendis stated that while a police investigation is being conducted an investigation within the university will also be carried out regarding the incident.
