Heavy rains cause more havoc

Around 2043 people have been affected by the difficult weather conditions while a further 1583 people belonging to 363 families have been displaced and are in camps at the moment, the Disaster Management Centre revealed.

 

Trincomalee has been reported as the worst hit area with 1361 people being affected by flooding. Landslide warnings in the Matale, Yatawatte and Pallepola areas have resulted in the removal of 102 people from their homes.
