The Government is preparing to send 60,000 army personnel home without a pension, UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara claimed today. He added that it was this same current government that has brought the army down to the level of selling vegetables.

There has to be an uprising similar to that of Egypt against the present government, Dayasiri said. He added that the UNP has organised a protest rally demanding the release of Sarath Fonseka tomorrow to coincide with Independence Day celebration.
