Emerging victorious from over 150,000 participants, 8 lucky contestants walked away with Rs 100,000/- each, winning the airtel Lakshapathiya competition. Winning contestants were chosen from among airtel customers who had downloaded the most number of Welcome Tunes by dialing into 7551 on their airtel mobile within a 2 month promotion period that ended in December last year.

Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Kumar Sangakkara graced the event held recently at the airtel brand shop in Colombo, to personally handover prizes to the lucky winners.

Vidur Rattan, Head of Sales & Marketing, Bharti airtel Lanka said, “airtel Welcome Tunes has fast emerged as one of our most popular services offered to customers throughout Sri Lanka. Its popularity stems from its simplicity of accessibility, its multi faceted menu and dynamic range of content that is continuously refreshed. Coupled together with an enticing array of packages offered based on individual customer needs to prevent unexpected bill shock, airtel Welcome Tunes has, in less than 2 years, emerged as one of the most vibrant services offered over the mobile in recent times”.

airtel Welcome Tunes is available to customers across Sri Lanka in English, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi languages. Currently, it is enjoyed by the majority of airtel’s customers and is fast attracting more to the service, owing to its rich and relevant content.
