Expulsion of TNA MP illegal - SC

The Supreme Court today (February 08) ruled that the expulsion of Ampara District MP P. Piyasena by the TNA is illegal. In his petition Piyasena stated that after he supported the government in passing the 18th constitutional amendment the TNA took steps to cancel his Parliament seat.
He further states that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) did not conduct a disciplinary inquiry against him prior to taking this decision against him.
