VIDEO: 185,946 flood victims still in the camps

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) claims that 185,946 people who have been displaced due to the heavy flooding in some parts of the island still remain within 686 temporary camps.

 

The death toll has reached 14 while a further two people are still missing, the DMC further stated. 1,185,601 people belonging to 318,417 families have been affected in total by the weather conditions while 2591 homes have been completely destroyed and 14,879 homes have been partially damaged.
