Appeal courts takes up petition against nomination list rejection

The petition filed by political parties and independent groups against the rejection of nomination lists ahead of the local government elections will be taken up at the Appeals Court today (February 11).

The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), the United National Party (UNP), Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and several independent groups have filed the petition against the rejections, requesting the Elections Commissioner to accept the nomination papers that have been submitted.
