Dettol, a leading brand of Reckitt Benckiser and a global leader in health and hygiene, provided relief assistance to affected families in the East in the aftermath of the recent floods. Dettol donated over half a million rupees worth of products to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Save the Children Fund for distribution amongst the flood effected victims.

Dettol is also carrying out awareness programs on cleanliness and good health and hygiene habits in order to further emphasize the importance of personal hygiene especially during the floods, where the risk of germs is greater.

“Dettol has always stood for providing good health and hygiene for the people of Sri Lanka, and when we were given the opportunity to extend the Dettol protection by donating Dettol products, we were happy to do so with both, the Ministry of Disaster Management as well as Save the Children Fund” Said Mr. Rahul Murgai, Managing Director of Reckitt Benckiser.

“As people return to their homes after the floods, it is important to create awareness of the good hygiene and cleanliness habit required to combat diseases and illnesses that may follow in the wake of such disasters” said Mr. Sinclair Cruse, Sales Director of Reckitt Benckiser.

“Dettol over the years have implemented different initiatives to improve health and hygiene awareness in Sri Lanka such as the “Dettol Protects” campaign. ‘This donation of Dettol products is yet another step by which Dettol hopes to improve the health and hygiene of Sri Lankan people” said Ms. Shameena Pallie, Dettol Product Group Manager.
