The President and the government, which during previous election champagnes promised to protect and safeguard the public, have neglected their responsibilities, said UNP MP Sajith Premadasa.

He accused that the people in the country who have been badly affected by the heavy rain and flooding have become helpless and poor and that the government has taken no action.

Not only the people affected by the floods but the people in the entire country are unable to find their everyday meals, the Parliamentarian expressed attending a public meeting at Lunugamvehera in Hambantota today (February 15).
