3,726 displaced persons still in camps - DMC

The Disaster Management Center states that 3,726 persons, displaced due to the floods are still sheltered in some 36 camps. 2,292 people from the Badulla District alone are living in 20 displaced persons’ camps.


78 individuals from the Trincomalee District and 85 from the Mathale District are also in two camps, the Disaster Management Center further revealed. Meanwhile it is said that approximately 777 people are housed in another 6 camps in the Mannar District.
