Kiwis demolished by Aussies

Australia beat New Zealand by seven wickets in their Group A encounter played at Nagpur a short while ago after the Kiwis posted a weak total of 206. Australia got there with 96 balls  to spare with the help of a 133 run opening wicket stand.

 

Shane Watson scored 62 while wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin scored 55 at the top.

 

Australia won the toss and elected to field while their bowlers ripped through the Kiwi lineup in no time with Mitchell Johnson being the pick of the lot with four wickets. Shaun Tait joined in with three wickets while Australia managed to get to their target with 16 overs to spare.


Mitchell Johnson was named man of the match for his figures of 9 overs, three maidens, four wickets for 33 runs.
