Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan says that if the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) contests the election for the Eastern Province on its own and wins he will bid farewell from his political career.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of a new bus stand in Batticaloa the Chief Minister expressed that the only party working together with the central government is his party.
The only way to gain power for the development of the Eastern Province is to join hands with the central government, said Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan commonly known as Pillayan.
He further emphasized that the public opinion may change if engaged in politics that creates agitation within the people.
