Road closed for Air Force anniversary celebrations

Authorities have decided to temporarily close the road between the Bakery junction on Attidiya road and the Maliban junction on Galle road in view of the 60thanniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

 

The celebrations will begin tomorrow (March 2) and carry on until March 10 at the Ratmalana Air Force Base. The road will be closed tomorrow between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. as well as between 2 p.m. and 1 a.m. the next morning.

 

Apart from the this schedule, the road will also be closed for the remaining days of the event between 2 p.m. and 1 a.m. while only vehicles travelling to the exhibition and carnival will be allowed access during this time.

 

The police have advised the public to use alternative routes including the Bellanthota Junction - Nadimala road, Hill Street – Galle Road and Templers road can be used.
