UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera stated today (March 3) that President Mahinda Rajapakse was soon forgetting the promises he had made to people claiming that he was misleading the public with his false promises.

Speaking at press conference held in Colombo today, MP Samaraweera claimed that he believed that the President was suffering from Amnesia which was a dangerous illness for a politician to have as it leads to the making of false promises.

He also rejected claims made by Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma that he was the most indebted from the 2005 Presidential elections to which he stated that Minister Alahapperuma was during that time conducting secret discussions with the UNP concerning switching his allegiance.
