70 Lankans return from Libya, 150 on the way

The Foreign Employment Bureau says that 70 more Lankan migrant workers have arrived in the country today (March 05) morning after being evacuated from strife-torn Libya.
Another contingent of 150 Lankans are scheduled to reach the island later today, Additional General Manager, of the Bureau L. K. Ruhunuge said.
With the present crisis situation in Libya approximately 650 migrant workers have returned to Sri Lanka, he expressed and added that around 200 more Lankans are expected to return shortly.
Mr. Ruhunuge stated that measures have been taken in order to bring them back safely and as soon as possible.
Meanwhile the government under the directive of President Mahinda Rajapaksa has deploy a special aircraft in order to bring the 150 or so Lankan today and they are scheduled to reach the island at around 2.30pm local time, President’s Media confirmed.
