VIDEO: Officer killed, 5 injured after army vehicle crashes into tree

One officer has died while another five have been critically injured after an army vehicle had been involved in an accident while traveling from the Kandakaduwa army camp in Welikanda.


According to the Army Media Unit, the vehicle had drifted off the road and crashed into a tree while en route to Kurunegala.


Following the incident, which occurred at dawn today (March 11), the injured had been admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital and are still undergoing treatment.


The deceased is reported to be a Second Lieutenant of the Sri Lanka Army.
