The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) states that the Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne has to apologize from the Parliament and from the public over his false claims in Parliament that LTTE camps have been set up in Tamil Nadu.
The statement made by the Prime Minister declaring that three LTTE camps have been set up in TN, according intelligence reports, has been proved false and has managed to created a massive controversy, a release by the JVP states.
It is a grave offence to abuse parliamentary privileges and mislead the public. Furthermore, the statement is baseless and is unfavorable to the country in a diplomatic manner, the party points out.
By now India has denied the Prime Minister’s claims and this has disgraced the country internationally, states the press release and therefore the JVP requests that the government afford an explanation to the people while the PM has to apologize from the parliament.
