SLBC prohibits commentator from covering Roy-Tho

Ada Derana learns that international commentator Lucian Wijesinghe was prevented from commentating on the Royal Thomian Big Match by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) due to his involvement in providing commentaries for World Cup matches for Derana.

Mr. Wijesinghe, an old boy of Royal College and regular commentator for the big match, was invited by the Royal-Thomian Big Match committee to cover the event but was prevented from going on air following objections by the SLBC, despite the committee’s right to appoint its own commentator.

Mr. Wijesinghe is a free-lance international commentator and is not affiliated with any media organization.
