VIDEO: UNP condemn govt.’s lukewarm attitude towards assisting Japan

The UNP is regretful that the government is showing the same lukewarm attitude towards assisting allied nation Japan, which it displayed in resolving the public’s problems, said Gayantha Karunathilaka.
Speaking at a press conference held today (March 14) the Parliamentarian reminisced of the instant relief and support provided by Japan when Sri Lanka was faced with the tsunami in 2004.
During a time like this when several countries have immediately come forward to show their support to Japan, which has faced a disastrous tsunami following earthquakes, as a country Sri Lanka is displaying a lukewarm attitude, he expressed.
Gayantha stated that this attitude from the government was visible until the Opposition Leader and the UNP reminded of the immediate involvement in this regard.
