No physical assault was carried out on a lecturer by a group of Sri Jayawardenepura University students, says Kumburupitiye Gnanissara Thero, Secretary of the Shasthrapeeta Students Council of the Sri Jayawardenepura University.

The Thero made this statement when queried by Ada Derana regarding the alleged incident where a university lecturer and three others had been hospitalized following an assault yesterday (March 14).

This is only an incident intended at creating a problem aimed at sabotaging the token strike carried out by university lecturers today, Gnanissara Thero clarified.
