Colombo Sri Lanka, March 15, 2011: At the recent 7th year anniversary celebration of Microsoft Sri Lanka, Tech One Global was recognised as one of the Significant Partners of Microsoft Sri Lanka.

Keeping with the Significant Seven theme, a few leading private and public sector institutions in seven different categories were felicitated by Microsoft Sri Lanka at the recently held gala event, for their significant partnerships that have contributed to make a difference in Sri Lankan IT sphere. Tech One Global was among the recipients of an award of recognition in the Partner category.

The Microsoft partner ecosystem is an integral component of its business model in Sri Lanka, where the company adopts a partner lead model to drive its business operations. As one of the first to have signed up as Microsoft’s Distributors in Sri Lanka, Tech One Global has set its business goals closely aligned with Microsoft from its inception.

“This is a great honor for us and one of our notable accolades as we have been mentored by Microsoft as a young entrant into the industry,” said Chief Operating Officer Wasantha Weerakoon. Tech One Global, a leading technological service provider, has also been recognised by Microsoft as Best Distributor for the past six consecutive years.

Mr. Pubudu Basnayake, Director SMS&P, Microsoft Sri Lanka commenting on Tech One Global’s role in the Microsoft partner eco-system said, “Tech One has partnered us since our entry in to the Sri Lankan market seven years back. As a company that started small, they have now grown to have an international presence with multiple offices located in various parts of Asia. From the inception, Tech One strongly supported Microsoft by aligning their operations to meet our business objectives. In recognition of the significant contribution made by the company, Microsoft has awarded them with the “Best Distributor” title over five consecutive years. I’m extremely pleased to see their growth through the years, especially since they have worked alongside us throughout our seven year journey in Sri Lanka. I wish them the best in their future business endeavors and look forward to working more closely in the years ahead.”

Tech One Global runs a Microsoft Experience Centre where partners can conduct proof of concepts, software stress tests or even conduct C level presentations in a fully equipped board room environment. Additionally Tech One Global operates the Microsoft Sri Lanka call centre, an end user call centre, and a learning centre which offers an extensive range of training courses certified by Microsoft.

Starting from humble beginnings in 2003 as Tech Distribution, Tech One Global has grown exponentially over the past few years, expanding from a local operation run by three people to a multinational operation run by a dedicated staff of 65 people across Sri Lanka, Maldives, Singapore, Brunei, Bangladesh and Dubai. The company envisages future operations to Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines in the near future.

From the beginning, Tech One Global has partnered with two of the world’s most renowned software service providers, Microsoft and Adobe. The company has incorporated a strong and professional distribution service and training team, which with the assistance of their far reaching partner network, has consistently provided technical support, license expertise, education, customized software solutions and unparalleled after sales services to their clients earning their trust and consistently satisfying them with after sales service and efficient dedicated operating.

Since 2008, Tech One Global has been ISO 9001:2008 certified, upgraded its documentation up to IFRS standards and has improved its service standards up to Black Belt Six Sigma level. Furthermore an integral collaboration of ERP solutions has been implemented to ensure efficient and resourceful operation throughout the company. “I believe it is this commitment to excellence which allowed us at Tech One Global to earn over 90% of Microsoft’s market share and become a Microsoft Gold certified partner while being recognized through numerous awards,” stated Mr. Weerakoon.

Weerakoon elaborated, “Our organization is a 100 percent people driven organization. We don’t have many assets, just a few tables and computers. Our real asset is people who are focused on taking the company forward, and that is why we focus on developing our employees to become our companies’ source of strength. Microsoft has fully supported us in this.”

The Tech One Global client portfolio includes Sri Lankan corporate giants like Dialog Axiata, SriLankan Airlines, and Sri Lanka Telecom. The company credo clearly states that Tech One Global will continue to be a catalyst for development and change in the local IT market and will continue to assert itself as dominant force in the years to come in the South Asian technological field.
