UPFA Candidate assaulted in Akkaraipattu

UPFA candidate for the Ampara District Thameem Abdeen was assaulted today (March 16) in Addalaichenai at around 1.30 a.m. Akkaraipattu Police stated. Abdeen’s home was also attacked when a group of armed men had opened fire at it, an Ada Derana correspondent revealed.

 

Abdeen is currently receiving treatment at the Akkaraipattu hospital while no one else has been reported injured during the incident.
