Thunder showers expected in parts of the country

Thunder showers are expected during afternoon hours in the coming days in certain parts of the island, Sri Lanka’s Meteorological Department warns. Wind speeds could increase along with these showers, the department’s Duty Forecaster Chaminda de Silva informed.
He further advised the public to take necessary precautions to minimize accidents that may occur as a result of lightning strikes especially in the coming days.
