If my life is harmed by any chance the Eastern Province Chief Minister has to take responsibility for it, says Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarian C. Yogeswaran. He claimed that he had repeatedly received death threats from the Chief Minister, Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan.
The Batticaloa District MP said that on March 20 the Chief Minister’s vehicle overtook his vehicle at Kiran Kulam and abruptly stopped in the middle of the road while Yogeswaran had been traveling towards Batticaloa following a function held at the Kalavanchikudi area.
Then he put down the vehicle’s window and made a gesture using his hands implying that he would shoot and kill me and then drove away, claimed Yogeswaran speaking to Ada Derana.
He further stated that the Eastern Province Chief Minister, Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan also known as Pillayan had threatened him on several previous occasions.
The MP accused the Chief Minister of attacking one of his election propaganda offices at Mamangam during the previous election period. He said that Chandrakanthan had arrived with a group of his supporters and attacked the office.
The Parliamentarian also mentioned that he has lodged a complaint at the Kattankudi Police regarding the recent death threat he had received.
