Colombo, March 2011 - Oriflame Sri Lanka today launched the newest product in its 2011 portfolio – The Otara Handbag – the new stylishly chic handbag exclusively created by one of Sri Lanka’s leading entrepreneurs and fashion icon Otara Gunewardene.
This
limited edition handbag sports a trendy colour and design perfect for today’s
modern sophisticated woman. Made of shiny PU leather with a quilted stitch
finish, its silver plaque is stylishly engraved for a luxurious finish while
the bag’s strap safely carries your belongings with a magnetic click lock.
Managing
Director Oriflame Sri Lanka Erik Stenback said, “This is undoubtedly a landmark
event in the 14-year old history of Oriflame in Sri Lanka. This is the very
first time that the Oriflame Catalogue is featuring a signature product
inspired by a local personality. We’re both proud and honoured to have a person
of the calibre of Otara Gunewardene on board which makes this a truly great
achievement for Oriflame Sri Lanka”.
“Oriflame
accessories, especially handbags, have always had a great impact and big hype
among our customers. The Otara Handbag signifies the seamless fusion of two
giants in their respective fields, each complementing the other. Otara
Gunewardene is regarded as one of the Sri Lanka’s most successful woman
entrepreneurs and a modern day legend. She is a brand in herself and has carved
an irreplaceable niche as a fashion icon beyond compare. Similarly Oriflame
enjoys top slot as the leading cosmetic brand in Sri Lanka”, Stenback added.
Says
Otara Gunewardene, “I’m delighted to team up with Oriflame on this very special
project. A handbag is a much needed fashion accessory for a woman and one that
a woman chooses with great care. This bag has been designed to suit every
lifestyle with a combination of style, convenience and elegance. I’m happy to be a part of this venture and
wish it lots of success”.
The
Oriflame Catalogue is now tri-lingual and thus has a truly Sri Lankan feel and
flavor. It showcases Oriflame’s wide range of high quality skincare,
fragrances, cosmetics and accessories.
“My team
and I at Oriflame are confident that this Otara Handbag will create excitement
among our Sri Lankan clientele and take personal accessories to a totally
different level altogether. Inspired by working with Otara Gunewardene, we also
have plans to work with famous Sri Lankan designers and beauticians on
signature products in the months to come”, Stenback concluded.
