Three Sri Lankan fishermen caught fishing in Indian waters southeast of Kodiakarai were arrested for crossing the international maritime boundary line (IMBL) without valid papers.

The police identified them as P. Kesavaruben, 21, P. Padmaraja, 22, and N. Senthooran, 24, all of Adhikoiladi in Valvettithurai, Jaffna.

They had set to sea in a fibre boat Tuesday morning and were fishing in the waters off Kodiakari at 1 pm when they were spotted by an Indian Navy vessel patrolling the area, DC reports.
