Defence requests the release of Ratwatta

An objection was raised at the High Courts today (March 25) in the fraud case against former Deputy Defence Minister Anuruddha Ratwatta, as the defence requested that Mr. Ratwatta released without being brought to the witness stand.
Presiding High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa stated that the objection will be studied and facts will be presented at the next hearing on May 9.
