VIDEO: No need to fear, utmost security arranged

There is no need to have fears in regard to any terrorist attacks as maximum security has been arranged for the World Cup match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand tomorrow (March 29) even if an incident occurs or not, says IGP Mahinda Balasuriya.
Accordingly all preparations have been made for Sri Lanka’s three forces and the police to implement a special security protocol together, the Inspector General of Police elaborated.
Similar to the previous matches bringing liquor or items such as firecrackers and into the World Cup venues is prohibited while entering the cricket stadium, exiting and then reentering the stadium even with tickets is not allowed, he further emphasized.
The Police Chief stated that these precautionary measures were implemented after taking into consideration the security as well as the discipline of the spectators.
