Union action called off, train services still not back to normal

The union action taken by railway workers earlier today (March 29) has been called off, according to the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Railway Stationmasters’ Union, Janaka Fernando. The decision was made following discussions with held with the Transport Minister, he told Ada Derana.


Even though the union action has been called off there is a delay in the train drivers reporting for work, A.G. Mahanama, General Manager of Railways revealed.


Therefore, train services have not have not returned back to normal yet, he said.
