(Reuters) - Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of Saturday’s World Cup final against India and will be replaced by off-spinner Suraj Randiv in the squad, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Friday.

Mathews batted with a runner during the semi-final against New Zealand after straining a thigh muscle while fielding.

“ICC has approved Suraj Randiv as a replacement player for the injured Angelo Mathews in the Sri Lanka squad,” cricket’s governing body said in a tweet on Friday.
