10 suspects arrested over post-WC attacks in Hatton

Police revealed that 10 suspects have been apprehended in regard to the attacks carried out on several residences in the Hatton area following the conclusion of the World Cup final match on Saturday (April 02).
Five of the suspects were remanded until April 15 after they were presented before the Hatton Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
The names of 29 individuals have been provided to the police in connection to the incident, Muthu Sivalingam the President of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) stated.
He warned that if all suspects involved are not placed under arrest by today (April 04) they will commence a protest within the city of Hatton.
Meanwhile the Hatton Police said that an additional police unit has been stationed in the city for security purposes.
