CID and SLCERT join forces to tackle criminals

It has been reported that the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT) has volunteered to provide its assistance to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in carrying out investigations. A special unit is also to be established for this purpose.


It is said that SLCERT will be able to provide the police unit with modern technical knowledge and computer related expertise needed in certain criminal investigations.


The special unit is scheduled to officially commence its operation in a future date with officers from both the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team and the Criminal Investigation Department.
