Humanitarian service should be the ultimate goal of all health workers stated Health Minister Maithreepala Sirisena at a ceremony held at the National Blood Bank in Narahenpitiya today(20).

The ceremony was held in order to award letters of appointment to 218 junior officers in 17 hospitals in the island.

Speaking at the occasion he further stated that health workers should carry out their official duties with as much enthusiasm as that shown towards gaining their personal privileges and benefits.

The Minister further added that the highest number of complaints received by the public were against junior staff members.
