Bakery owners advised not to charge excessively

April 23, 2011   12:48 pm

The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association requests all bakery owners not to increase the price of bakery products excessively even if the price of bread has been increased. Its Chairman N.K. Jayawardena stated that reports have been received of certain bakers increasing the prices of bakery products unusually.

He requested bakery owners to only increase the prices of products by marginal amounts in order to minimize the losses faced as a result of the increase in wheat flour prices and also to take into consideration the difficulties of the consumers.
