Travelers to Nuwara Eliya asked to be cautious

People arriving in Nuwara Eliya for the spring festival should be attentive to certain information due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions, according to Nuwara Eliya Government Agent D.G.P. Kumarasiri.


Drivers in the road have to be cautious of the heavy rainfall, mist, breaking of river banks and landslides, he advised also mentioning that due to the rainfall during the short period of time water levels in rivers, canals and lakes have risen unexpectedly.     


Therefore the GA advised the public visiting Nuwara Eliya during the spring festival to avoid these fresh water sources as much as possible.
