Kandy private bus strike to continue

The strike launched by the Private Bus workers in Kandy is to continue today (25). It is reported that accordingly no buses will function on the Kandy- Wathegama, Kandy- Matale and Wathegama- Alkaduwa routes today.


The strike was launched in protest against the assault of a bus driver and conductor of a private bus on the Kandy-Wathegama route.


The driver who was assaulted was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital and the Katugastota Police are conducting further investigations.
