Cabinet Media Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella today (28)reiterated Sri Lanka’s decision to reject the UN panel report as a false a document which was merely aimed at disrupting the national integrity of the country.

He further stated that while the government strongly rejects the “Darusman Report” the government also views it as an attempt to reverse the Government’s nation building efforts and hamper and disrupt its efforts to reinforce peace and security.

Addressing the Cabinet Media briefing today Rambukwella added that the fact that countries such as the UK, USA and the European Union who had earlier labeled the LTTE as a ruthless terrorist outfit  now prescribed them as the most disciplined terrorist outfit is proof enough of the bias and the lack of credible evidence in the report.

In response to the TNA’s acceptance of the UN panel report Rambukwella stated that their acceptance merely solidified the fact that they were proxies for the LTTE from the onset of the conflict and not the only representatives of the Tamil population as they have claimed to be.

He stated that the government will act responsibly in this matter and hopes to unite with all parties devoid of political differences  and hold discussions with regard to future steps that need to be taken in regard to this matter.
