Milk food companies ask for price increase

April 28, 2011   04:25 pm

Milk food companies have stated that if the government does not allow a price hike, milk powder imports will have to be limited as the industry will have trouble coping with the increase in international market prices.

The Milk food companies expressed these concerns at a media briefing held today (April 28) in Colombo.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) Rumy Marshook told Ada Derana that this request had been put forward to the pricing committee while their decision will be announced in the coming week.
