Man hacked and house robbed in Jaffna

A 46-year-old man in Jaffna was hospitalized today (April 29) after he had been repeatedly beaten and slashed by an unidentified group at his residence in Achchuveli. 


It has been reported that the group had entered the house of Kanthappu Selvakumar, a father of two, at around 10am today bearing knives and a machete.


Subsequent to slashing the Selvakumar’s neck and stomach the group had robbed the house of items worth several Lakhs before fleeing, Ada Derana correspondent reported.


The victim has been admitted to the Sunnaham Hospital for treatment while a complaint regarding the incident has been lodged with the Sunnaham Police.
