Captain Senaka de Silva’s attorney appealed for permission to be granted for de Silva to visit Sarath Fonseka, who is currently in police remand to discuss issues pertaining to his political activities as de Silva is currently Fonseka’s secretary.
The state attorney opposed this and stated that the High Court does not have the authority to grant such permission as the second defendant was granted bail by the Appeal Court.
Accordingly Colombo High Court judge Deepali Wijesundara ordered that the request be presented to the Appeal Court.
Both former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka and his secretary, who is on police bail were present at today’s (03) court proceedings.
The Colombo High Court decided to postpone the court case against Former Army commander Sarath Fonseka and his Secretary Senaka de Silva who have been accused of allegedly employing 10 army deserters during the last presidential election.
The Court decided to postpone the case to July 12 and all witnesses were ordered to be present at court on that day.
