Family health service problems to be brought before the President

A petition regarding the various problems pertaining to family health services will be handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa today (05) by the Lanka Suwa Sewa Association.
Chairman of the Association Gamini Kumarasingha stated that despite attention being drawn to these issues through a long period of time Authorities have failed to take any action thus far.
He added that discussions regarding these problems have taken place between the Health Minister and Health Authorities but no effective solutions had yet been provided.
A peaceful rally will be staged in order to hand over the petition to the President which will also include a request to integrate the family health service and the nursing service.
This is in lieu of International Family Health day which falls today (05).
