The United Nations is an organization that dances according to the changes in the international balance of power, senior media personality Mohan Samaranayake said.
He points out that the statements made by the UN Secretary General concerning the Darusman committee and the manner in which he operated are contradictory.
Speaking at a conference held yesterday (May 06) on the UN report he emphasized that the Secretary General has no right to take a unilateral decision regarding a member nation.
Clearly a deceitful atmosphere is visible in the general manner, through which the UN committee on Sri Lanka was appointed, he further expressed.
If the committee had been appointed only to advise the Secretary General then there is no way the document can be a reputed one, Mohan Samaranayake added.
