The Private Bus Owners Association (PBOA) will meet today (May 10) to hold discussions on increasing bus fares. No answer was yet given by the National Transport Commission (NTC) despite a request been made for these fare hikes last week, President of the PBOA Gemunu Wijeratne stated.

He added that the members will discuss their legal capability to increase bus fare and will decide on further action at today’s meeting.

Meanwhile, Minister of Private Transport Services, C.B. Ratnayake told Ada Derana that although nothing had been decided yet, a decision will be taken on the matter in coming few days.
