Ravi appointment petition: 75 including Ranil issued notice

Gangodawila Magistrate court today issued notice for 75 persons including Ranil Wickremasinghe to appear before the court. District Judge Champa Janaki Wijerathne issued notice today when the petition filed by UNP Western Provincial Council member and lawyer Maithree Gunarathne was taken up.
Gunarathne filing a petition sought the court to issue an injunction suspending the decision to appoint Ravi Karunanayaka as the UNP National Organiser. District Judge Champa Janaki Wijerathne stated that before she issues such an injunction an opportunity should be given for the defendants to show cause. Hence the 75 persons including the UNP leader were given time till May 23 to show cause.
