Parliamentary Council approves Shirani Bandaranayake as new CJ

The Parliamentary Council has today (May 12) approved President Mahinda Rajapakse’s nomination of Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake as the new Chief Justice.
The Council also approved Jagath S. Balapatabendi as the Commissioner to investigate allegations of Bribery or Corruption and Prof. Dayasiri Fernando as the Chairman of the Public Service Commission.
